When attempting to install or upgrade the Endpoint Encryption Deployment Tool, the following error may appear:

This issue may occur if the Windows service Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption Deployment Tool Service is unable to connect to the database.

  1. Save a backup copy of the Endpoint Encryption Deployment Tool database file before attempting to upgrade again.

    The default full path for the database file is as follows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\OfficeScan\Addon\TMEE\db\tmtb.db

  2. Stop the Windows service Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption Deployment Tool Service.
  3. Try to install or upgrade the Endpoint Encryption Deployment Tool again.
